Hannah Grace's All-Stars are over...

Well, ball season is officially over. HG's team came in 3rd in her tournament. They did so well and absolutely played their hearts out. The girls were heartbroken over the loss but it was short lived. After they got their medals, a pep-talk, and the promise of a big end-of-season party they were all smiles again.

She hit better during All-Stars than she had been. I guess she knew she had to turn it on.

HG's biggest fan!!

One down, One to go...

Carter's team finished their tournament on Sunday afternoon. They lost, but came in third place. I am so proud of him and his team. I think the parents are more heart broken than the kids. They had a great time which is what it's all about. We now have a little bit of a break before fall baseball starts. But Carter loves baseball and would play everyday of he could. I try not to complain because I know the day will come when we will miss these wonderful times.

Tomorrow night HG starts her tournament in White House. She is really excited. This is her first ball tournament so she doesn't really know what to expect. I am just so glad that all of her games are at night. I'll have pictures of hers when we get them.

I have to brag!!

Carter had his first All-Star game tonight. His team won 25-9. He is such a good first baseman. We play again tomorrow (Sat) at 10:30, then again sometime Sat. evening. I will get pics on here soon of the big games.
HG starts her tournament on Tuesday of this week.

p.s. To those who have responded to me whining about a job...Thank you so much for your encouragement and friendship!!

Now you see it, now you don't...

So, I got an e-mail last week from the VP at Robert F. Woodall Elem. in White House telling me that she would be in the office this Tues, Wed, and Thurs. For me to call on Tues. (today) and set up a time to come in that she would love to talk to me. Apparently, she called the board of Education and they recommended me to her. I have a good friend that was just hired there to teach 5th and she was told by another teacher that they had another 5th grade position open that had not been posted. So I am really excited about getting to meet with her because 5th grade is exactly the grade that I am wanting to teach. Well, I called this morning and talked to her for a little while, she seems really interested in what I have to say and we meet at 1:00 to talk further. The interview went great (better than I even expected). Once we finished talking about school stuff she says, "I had planned on you leaving here with me offering you a teaching position in 5th grade. I am more than impressed with you and what all we have talked about, BUT (don't you just love that word...) the "board" called me an hour ago and they filled the position with a transfer teacher." WHAT...ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so frustrated with "the board". The very people that recommended me for this job took it out from under me in a matter of days. I went from being on cloud 9, just knowing that I was going to get to come home and tell Tim those sweet words that he has been waiting for several years to hear, "Honey, I got a job!!" to feeling like I had been kicked in the gut. So now, back to the waiting game.
God, please grant me patience as I wait on your plan for me. Teach me, Lord, to wait with faith and expectancy, and may my trials be seen as times for growth in grace. Amen
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” —Galatians 6:9

Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who is such a great father to our kids. He adores his children and would give them the moon if they asked. I thank God each day that he is in our lives and I can't imagine a day going by without his love and support. I love you honey, more than words can say!

All-Star season has officially begun...

We have spent the last two nights at the ball field and have had supper at 9:30 both nights. I keep wondering if I am a terrible mother but my kids would rather be at the ball field than eat supper. So I guess if they are happy I am doing my job .
Another thought...
I am having a terrible time figuring out what to get my father for Father's Day. My dad is so wonderful and I feel like anything that I get him will not be enough. What are all of you getting your dads for his big day?

Stress or Not to Stress?...That is the question...

I have been trying so hard not to stress out about not having a job yet. I am finding it harder and harder not to worry. From the beginning I told myself and everyone else that I was not going to worry because I know that God has a place for me. I know good and well that He will place me where He needs for me to use my talents most. Well, if I know this is true (and I do) then why am I worrying about it? I have faith, but why do I find myself doubting God? I know this is Satan playing off of my worry and I am all about shutting down this Satan character. So it is my challenge to you as well as myself to put away the worry. Shut satan down and let God do His work!!

Latest Happenings

Hannah Grace just had her dance recital. She and the girls in her class (one being her cousin Savannah Dalton) did a great job! It is amazing how they come to life when they are on stage.

Both Hannah Grace and Carter have made the All-Star teams for their age group in softball and baseball. They both love playing ball and I have to admit I love it too.

We have been taking the kids fishing at a friends pond. I never thought fishing was my kind of thing but we have a great time and are making some wonderful family memories!

As for me, I am still job hunting. I graduated in May and I am wanting so badly to be a teacher at Greenbrier Elem. This is the school that my children attend I would love nothing more than to be where they are. I would also like to work at Watauga Elem., they are both really close to my house so either would be great!! I'll keep you posted on where I end up.

First Post

I have been reading the blogs of several of my friends and reluctantly decided to try this myself. I keep thinking that there is no way I will have time to keep this up, but I am going to try. I love to share the experiences of my family with others so I figure what better way than this. There is always something interesting going on around here.
